Hi, I’m Micah Heath. I am passionate about helping individuals find hope in their day to day lives, and confidence to live out their values in the face of challenges & disappointments. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where my parents pastored several small churches in rural communities in Oregon and Washington.
Mental, emotional, and spiritual health has always been important to me because I have seen first-hand how it affects every part of our lives in work, friendships and family. It was a trusted counselor who helped me to identify the places where I would get stuck, and who helped me to re-align my beliefs with my behaviors.
I am currently finishing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary. I also have a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon. I lived in France and Germany from 2012 to 2020, helping the children of global workers (TCK’s*) transition with their families to new lives, jobs and cultures.
I would love the opportunity to connect with you and to be entrusted with your story.
*A Third Culture Kid is a person who has spent a significant part of his or her developmental years outside the parent’s culture. The TCK frequently builds relationships to all of the cultures, while not having full ownership in any. - Third Culture Kids: Growing Up Among Worlds
tHIRD-cULTURE ISSUES
A mobile and multi-cultural childhood has unique benefits, and might even appear desirable to others, but it also contains unique and deeply personal challenges. Just because life looks great on the outside doesn’t mean that we are thriving inside. I have worked with ex-pats and TCKs in Europe since 2009 and know how to help people with identity and cultural struggles that may not be easy to see or understand.
UNWANTED SEXUAL BEHAVIORS
The stories of lonely and intimate struggles can’t be shared with just anyone. I know what it’s like to struggle with unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and I’ve experienced the benefit & breakthroughs of mental health therapy first-hand. My approach is to help you identify core desires that influence behavior.
fAITH de/reconstruction
I grew up in a Christian context and have worked in a post-Christian European context for almost 10 years. I have experienced doubts of my own and have worked through profound disappointment with trusted Christian leaders and institutions. I love working with people who are brave enough to ask difficult questions and who remain unsatisfied with simplistic answers.
We don't believe something by merely saying we believe it, or even when we believe that we believe it. We believe something when we act as if it were true."

How I Help
I work with teens and adults, integrating a number of different counseling modalities, which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Brief and Narrative Therapies. However, the most important factor for me is the therapeutic relationship I have between me and my clients.
About Me
I am married and a dad of two boys. I love to get outside with my family, and enjoy hiking, running, cycling, swimming, and traveling to places I’ve never been before. My Spotify account is full of music of almost all kinds, stand-up comedy, and audiobooks.
